About Dr. Shamp
Dr. Stephen (Steve) Shamp is a board-certified radiation oncologist at WellSpring Oncology in Pinellas Park, where he offers kind, compassionate, high-quality cancer care close to home.
Before medicine, Dr. Shamp trained as an electrical engineer. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his radiation oncology residency at Case Western University Hospitals Cleveland, where he served as Chief Resident.
He is an author and co-primary investigator of the CASE 1518 clinical trial of external beam radiation therapy combined with immunotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer, and has presented at numerous scientific conferences. He has been named a Top Doctor by Tampa Magazine multiple times, most recently in 2026.

Dr. Shamp is married and lives with his wife and family in St. Petersburg, Florida. In his free time he enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, watersports, scuba diving, astronomy, photography, and working on his Jeep Wrangler.

Everyone was so nice and eager to help. I saw three docs there, including my main provider Dr. Shamp, and was so happy with the care I got. The nurses and care givers were the best. I hope I don't need treatment in the future but if I do, I'm coming there for sure.
